Just finished up this snare for a customer. They were looking for something 8″x14″ and gave me artistic freedom as long as it was loud!🤘
I decided to go with birch to get the volume and walnut as an accent wood to round out the sound just a bit. I confused myself a little trying to get the pattern right😆 but the contrasting materials look awesome together.
Finished off with 10 tube lugs & 2.3 triple flange hoops. This 8 inch deep snare has a serious “crack” sound but is also very responsive. Excellent for heavy hitting or subtle ghost notes. I’m so happy to be sending this beauty to its new home. On to the next one!
